About Cuyabeno Lodge

In Cuyabeno, Amazon, Ecuador, we are the pioneers in the tourist operation and we built the first Eco Friendly Lodge in the Cuyabeno National Park

When Cuyabeno Lodge began operating in 1988, we believed that the rainforest traveller should be accommodated in conditions harmonious with the surrounding environment as well as attuned to the needs of the modern visitor. We are the pioneers in tourism operation in Cuyabeno, Amazonia Ecuador and we built the first Ecofriendly Lodge in the Cuyabeno National Park.

The reserve covers over 602.000 hectares of primary rainforest and possesses an incredible variety of Neotropical wildlife: river dolphins, caimans, anacondas, monkeys, spiders, and butterflies… The bird life is spectacular: the prehistoric-looking hoatzin, the umbrella bird, the blue-headed parrot, the scarlet macaw, and the legendary harpy eagle…

The rainforest continues to be the home to communities of ancient indigenous tribes such as the Siona, the Secoya and the Cofan who have lived in the Amazon basin for thousands of years. The Cuyabeno Reserve and our Cuyabeno Lodge are unique places in the Amazon rainforest that give you the best opportunity to observe the Fauna and Flora.
