CUYABENO LODGE: LOCATION AND HOW TO GET THERE

Address: E9 Leonidas Plaza # N24-73, Intersection: N24B Mariscal Foch Quito, Ecuador SONELSA building, next to the PETROECUADOR building

The Cuyabeno Lodge

is located deep within Ecuador’s pristine Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, one of the scenic and wildlife rich Amazon rainforest parks. This pioneer eco-lodge is uniquely situated on a seasonal peninsula overlooking the spectacular Laguna Grande, offering unparalleled access to the Amazon rainforest. Owned by renowned conservation ecologist, Dr. Daan Vreugdenhil, it is the best run lodge in the reserve. Being the first, he chose the best spot, a seasonal island with the only lake view right from the observation deck.

Getting from Quito to Cuyabeno

The best and most convenient way to get from Quito to Cuyabeno is by taking the comfortable private transandean night bus. This departs from Quito late in the evening, driving across the Andes overnight while you sleep until you arrive the next morning at the Cuyabeno Wildlife reserve, the best place to watch wildlife in the Amazon of Ecuador.

Motorized Canoe Cruise

You will meet your nature guide at the Cuyabeno Bridge – the entrance of the reserve – where you board our motorized canoe for a captivating 2-hour cruise down the winding Cuyabeno River. As you slowly navigate downstream the river you will spot monkeys, exotic birds, and pink river dolphins, until you arrive at our Cuyabeno Lodge.
